IZ Translations was founded in 2017 in upstate New York. The founding team came from professional translation and academic backgrounds, not from agency management. The experience of being a specialist translator assigned generalist work -- and getting paid generalist rates for it -- shaped the model.
We work with specialists. Our network includes scientists, engineers, finance professionals, literary translators, and software developers who translate as part of their professional identity, not as a secondary activity. Rates reflect the expertise level, which means we do not compete on price with generalist platforms.
The clients who work well with us typically come from industries where the terminology cannot be wrong: scientific publishing, financial services, technology, and literature. These are not clients who need fast and cheap. They need accurate and reliable.
